Is Your Garden Spring Ready?

With Spring just around the corner, this is your reminder to start thinking about how you would like your garden or balcony to look this spring. Whether your exterior home style is rustic or colourful, big budget or small, we’ve whittled down a list of our favourite garden styles to get you inspired!

Rustic Charm

Think stone, wicker and a neutral colour palette, a rustic outdoor space keeps the furniture to a minimalist style allowing for nature to be the star of your garden. To add to this relaxed and minimalist feel, we suggest accessorising with lanterns, hurricanes and candle holders made of natural materials to add soft lighting to your outdoor space. To add those finishing touches to our outdoor dining set, why not pick fresh flowers from your garden and create a beautifully rustic arrangement with one of our stone vases.

Make New and Mend

The trend of reusing and recycling is one we’re sure you’ve heard of, so if you’ve got a gorgeous outdoor dining set or lounge area that looks a little worse for wear, instead of buying brand new, why not have your seat and cushion covers reupholstered! At Sophie Sews we’re making a conscious effort to offer services that will allow you to adapt and alter existing soft furnishings, to ensure you can keep using them for many more years to come. Whether you’re wanting plain and simple or bold and extravagant, we offer a wide variety of outdoor fabrics perfect for any seating area needing a new year refresh.

Colour!

This trend may just be our favourite… A rise in the popularity of using colour both indoors and outside is certainly a trend we can get on board with. If large, bold, colour statements seem a bit daunting, we recommend starting small with scatter cushions which could pick out an accent colour from the plants in your garden. If you’re wanting to go bolder, why not create a colourful patio or balcony with a patterned outdoor rug, paired with garden chairs of all different colours. This trend has not only been seen in The Telegraph, House and Garden and Country Living, but could easily soon be seen in your garden too!
