Our Stories

At Sophie Sews we create bespoke interiors through curtains, blinds and all other soft furnishings, offering every client a design-led and personalised service, where we are with you from initial idea all the way through to installation.
Our designers live, sleep and breathe interior design and our craftspeople are some of the finest in the UK – handpicked for their attention to detail, while our expert fitters ensure the perfect finish for every home we work in.

We know that much of what we do is about touch and feel, so we have an extensive library of carefully curated fabrics, wallpapers, paints and trimmings, in our Horsell showroom. We understand that the light and tones of your interior spaces are far easier to explore at home, so we offer an in-home design visit to all our customers, during which we bring a selection of fabric books, paints, curtain poles and even tiebacks for your consideration.

Our aim at Sophie Sews is to turn the vision you have for your interiors into a gorgeous reality! So we have built strong relationships with some of the most world renowned interior brands, such as Sanderson, Colefax & Fowler, Romo and many more, to ensure that we can provide a complete interior design service for your home.

Our brief wasn’t simple – we wanted blinds made with vintage fabric, and we wanted existing curtains cut down and redesigned – but Sophie was brilliantly accommodating, understood exactly what we were trying to achieve, and delivered what we wanted within budget and well in time for us to move in. Our Makers

Our team of fabric magicians use the combination of decades of experience and the latest technology, to produce soft furnishings of the highest quality. Their computerised workshop specialises in pattern matching fabric seams, laser beam measuring for the perfect sizing, and working from 4 metre long work benches to make delivering even the largest curtain projects possible.
 
At Sophie Sews, we pride ourselves on being able to offer a personalised service, and being able to control every aspect of our designs is a key part of this. Our makers have been with us since Sophie stopped using her dining table as a work room, growing in size and expertise alongside us year after year.

Fitter
Paul is our very own fitter working solely with the Sophie Sews team. You’ll find him with Kathryn arranging the next installation project, in the Sophie Sews shop fitting the newest designs for display, or at your home installing your latest order! His attention to detail and fitting knowledge ensures that all our clients' homes are in very good hands, and that each and every Sophie Sews design is beautifully executed.

Operations Manager
Kathryn is the organisational mastermind behind Sophie Sews, ensuring everything is double checked, organised and running on time. Kathryn also works alongside our designers, editing quotes and orders, arranging the installation of projects and all day to day admin tasks you could think of.
 
Sophie Sews has expanded over the years into upholstery, where Kathryn has grown her knowledge and expertise on the subject, so that we can provide our clients with a one-stop-shop for everything interiors!
Charlotte

Charlotte

Designer
Charlotte has always had a passion for design, from spending as much time as possible in the textile studio at school, to studying Textile Design at university. Her knowledge of fabric and interiors has grown over the years, with prior experience in furniture design and room layout. Charlotte is able to combine all these skills to create wonderful interior designs for all spaces.

At Sophie Sews we offer a bespoke and personal service to all our clients, so you’ll find Charlotte measuring and designing within your own home, helping you to choose the perfect fabric, trimmings and accessories for every room.

Head Designer
I first fell in love with fabrics and design in the art and textiles room at school. I went on to do a National Diploma in Interior Design, before then setting my sights on creating a local interior design business.

Since 2012, I have been lucky enough to have worked on homes all over Surrey, London and even across the channel. I have gained so much experience from every single window I’ve dressed, and I’ve been fortunate to be able to work with suppliers at the very forefront of fabric design and product manufacturing.

I always adore seeing the latest fabrics and curtain hardware to be brought to the market, and creating for my clients soft furnishings that are beautiful, fun, practical and everything in between.
 
Sophie Sews began with me sewing every order from my dining room table! So I’ve loved seeing how much the business has grown, and I’m excited to see what the future has in store for the whole Sophie Sews team.
