Spring has finally begun

Now that spring has begun, we at Sophie Sews are starting to notice lighter and brighter colour palettes becoming more popular. With Pantone’s colour of the year being the stunning Very Peri, we’re excited to see bold violets, soft lilacs and beautiful lavenders making their way into our homes.

Although Very Peri curtains may sound daunting at first, something as simple as a subtle trim, or tie back, could be your solution to bringing more colourful spring accents into your home. With our wide range of fabrics and curtain accessories at Sophie Sews, your spring refresh could be just around the corner!

This stunning roman blind made with Ashley Wilde Glint Fog fabric and VV Rouleaux ribbon to trim, is the perfect example of how elegant purple tones can look no matter how small or large your space. A simple coloured trim can bring to life any room in need of a subtle spring update, and is a great alternative to having a coloured fabric if bold colour changes are a little out of your comfort zone.

This beautiful fabric supplied by one of our customers shows perfectly how a small pop of purple can work in any room. It’s elegant, classic and would work well on a waterfall roman blind as seen here, or a full length curtain perhaps for a set of french doors which need a little TLC.

My favourite colour during the spring season is yellow. Its sunny shades of gold are bound to brighten any room and give a joyous boost of colour to even the most boring space. These stunning waterfall roman blinds made with Ashley Wilde Breuer Ochre fabric, pair perfectly with grey upholstered pieces and will bring a much needed touch of spring into any home.

For a bold leap into spring, why not try this beautiful Prestige Textiles Lagoon Oasis fabric! Perfect for a statement eyelet curtain (as pictured here) to add a pop of colour and pattern in an otherwise neutral room. Nothing says spring like gorgeous greens and lavish lagoon blues, with a small hint of yellow to really get you in the mood for spring.
