Curtains or voiles… why not both?

Window dressings can be tricky to decide on especially if you’re toying with more than one design idea, so we’ve done the hard work for you and have figured out the best designs depending on your needs!

Curtains with voiles

Having a curtain paired with a voile is fantastic if you’re needing a window to have a blackout element, but also a separate privacy element.

One design feature to bear in mind when pairing voiles and curtains together is the amount of room they will take up. If space in your room isn’t an issue, we think double wall fixed poles look beautiful, elegant and add the perfect statement look to your window.

However, if space is a concern, opt for placing your curtain outside of your window recess and have the voiles fitted inside the recess. This enables you to have both the blackout and privacy element for your window, without having your curtain and voile combination protrude too much into your room.

Roman blinds with sheer blinds

If you’re looking for a minimal and contemporary window dressing, a roman blind paired with a sheer blind is the perfect window dressing for you.

This design is perfect for a small window or if your window is close to a door, where you just don’t have quite enough space to fit a curtain. This sleek and minimalist style is beautiful when added to a home with pared back interiors where the overall style is ‘less is more’.

A sheer blind is also a fantastic practical solution if you have a room with lots of lovely natural light that you want to be shielded from, but don’t want to completely block out. A sheer roman blind will provide subtle but practical coverage when pulled down, and when pulled upright it can stack much smaller than a curtain making it far less noticeable.
