2022 Autumn Winter Interior Trends

Moody Blues

Deep purples, dark oranges and midnight blues are the types of colours that always bring a feeling of winter being on the horizon. Dark blue walls in a paint colour such as Basalt by Little Greene suits this trend perfectly, partnered with a bold patterned fabric perhaps in a peachy orange or blush pink, would tick every box for this A/W trend perfectly!

Pictured here is the gorgeous Velluto fabric collection by Ashley Wilde which perfectly shows how dark walls do not make for a dark room. When working with sumptuous deep colour palettes, remember to balance out your darker colours with lighter tones in items such as cushions, artwork, or curtains. Dark does not mean dreary!

70’s Revival

We saw the fashion trends of the 1970’s come back into our wardrobes, now it’s time for those groovy patterns and colours to make their way into our interiors.

Orange, green, yellow and brown are the colours that immediately spring to mind when I think of interiors of the 70’s, however, a modern take on this doesn’t have to be so ghastly! Pictured here is a pair of beautiful full length dress curtains, in a gorgeous olive green satin with triple pinch pleat heading, making these curtains voluptuous and bold but not garish in the slightest. We’ve partnered these with roman blinds in a funky seventies inspired pattern, but in a much softer colourway so as to balance out the room.

Eco Warrior

Sustainable practices within the interiors industry has gained a lot of momentum in the past couple of years, with many fabric houses producing new collections with our planet in mind.

At Sophie Sews this is a subject we are all interested in which is why we are constantly making steps towards being a more environmentally aware and friendly business. We offer a wide variety of fabrics which also includes lots of eco-friendly options. From ILIV ‘s Imprint Collection where every fabric is sustainably sourced, to Today Interiors Linear collection pictured here where the entire range is made from recycled materials.

Whether you’re looking for a lightweight fabric to add just a touch of privacy to an overlooked window, or something heavily patterned for a room which needs livening up; there is a sustainable fabric for every style and we’re certain that this particular A/W 2022 trend will be around for many years to come.
